Sparky Anderson was born on February 22, 1934. Sparky’s Irish roots can be traced back to his 8x great-grandfather, John McDaniel of County Clare!

During his legendary managerial career, he was a three-time World Series Champion, winning titles with the Cincinnati Reds and the Detroit Tigers. He was the first manager to win a World Series in both the American and National Leagues. He retired with 2,194 wins, good for sixth, all-time.
