Curry Foley was born on January 16, 1856 in Milltown, County Kerry. He was a Irish Born generation Irish American. His Irish ancestors had the surname Foley.

Foley played five seasons of major league baseball for the the Boston Red Caps (1879–80) and Buffalo Bisons (1881–83). On May 25, 1882, Curry earned his place in the baseball record books when he hit for the cycle for the first time in major league history!
