For the past year or so, I’ve been working with Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame Founder Shaun Clancy, to prepare for the next phase of “The Hall.” Recently, Shaun and I have been working with Dave Schofield — himself a HOF inductee and an IABS member — to establish bylaws and an annual calendar for future nominations, votes, and induction ceremonies.
It’s all very exciting and it has been an honor to be part of the process.
Here are the key takeaways that IABS members should be aware of:
- Nominations will take place in September. All paying members of the IABS will be able to make a nomination each year.
- Voting will take place in November. HOF Gold Level and Lifetime Members will be able to vote.
- The HOF Gold Level is a new membership level. It will be available on September 1. The cost is $100/year.
- The price of Lifetime Membership will be raised from $500 to $1,000 on September 1, 2022, to reflect the added value of a Hall of Fame vote.
- Inductees will be announced in January.
- The annual induction ceremony will take place in March.
We hope to have finalized bylaws ready soon for all members to see. In the meantime, if you would like to purchase a Lifetime Membership before the price is increased, please click here.
