Legendary manager Jim Leyland was inducted into the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Leyland was inducted by IABHOF Founder and President Emeritus Shaun Clancy. The induction took place on the field before the Pirates game on Irish Heritage Night.
Leyland was voted into the Irish Hall by members of the Irish American Baseball Society. The other 2023 inductees are Jim Palmer and the late John McSherry.
The induction was the first for the “Irish Hall” since 2019.
