Members of the Irish Wolfhounds Baseball Club had an opportunity to meet with xyz in New York. The Irish Star reports:
Irish Tánaiste Micheál Martin is officially a member of the pack after receiving a jersey from the Irish Wolfhounds. The Wolfhounds are the first all-Irish baseball team in the US.
The Tánaiste – Ireland’s equivalent of a deputy Prime Minister – is currently in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly this week. Accompanied by Consul General of Ireland in New York Helena Nolan, Martin met with members of the Wolfhounds on Sunday.
The team presented him with his very own Wolfhounds jersey, complete with his name on the back. On what the Irish American Baseball Society described as “an incredible day for Irish Baseball”, the members also discussed the development of baseball in Ireland and the US with the Tánaiste.
