Heimall Named Irish Wolfhounds General Manager

Baseball Industry Veteran to Guide the World’s First All-Irish Baseball Club

New York, NY (January 29, 2024) – Christian Heimall has been named the General Manager of the Irish Wolfhounds Baseball Club.

In his new role, Heimall will lead the club into its second season.

“I’m honored to be a part of the Irish Wolfhounds,” explained Heimall. “The mission and purpose of this goes far beyond just winning ballgames and I’m excited to help contribute to that.”

The Irish Wolfhounds Baseball Club was created in 2023, to demonstrate that Ireland has enough talent to advance to the highest levels of international baseball. The Wolfhounds roster includes college and pro baseball players who are citizens of Ireland. Each player is eligible to play for Team Ireland in the Olympics and World Baseball Classic.

A veteran of the professional baseball world, Heimall has a decade of experience in various markets and roles across the country. His resume includes four years with the High Point Rockers, an expansion team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, located in High Point, North Carolina.

Hired as the Rockers’ Assistant General Manager in 2018 to assist with the completion of their new stadium, construction of a front office staff, coaching staff, and roster, Heimall helped the team put together a winning mentality both on and off the field. In their inaugural season of 2019, the Rockers had nine league All-Stars and became the first expansion team in league history to reach the playoffs in their first year. The organization also engaged and enriched their community, raising over $30,000 for local charities in their maiden season.

Despite the cancellation of the 2020 season, Heimall’s efforts to keep the team involved in the community, including youth baseball camps, food drives, special events and more, led to him being elevated to the role of General Manager.

The Rockers also made the playoffs in 2021 and 2022, reaching the Championship Series in Heimall’s final year with the team, continuing to raise money for the city and host numerous other community events.

Heimall, 34, has also worked for the Quad Cities River Bandits (Single A) in 2017 and the New York Boulders (Frontier League) from 2013-2016, being a part of teams that won their respective league Championships. A lifelong baseball fan, he resides in High Point, North Carolina with his wife and their two dogs.

“Last year, the Wolfhounds showed the world that Ireland has the talent to get to the World Baseball Classic” explained Heimall. “Now it’s time to establish the Wolfhounds as a long-term baseball club with the ultimate goal of putting the team in Ireland and representing our fans across the globe.”

The Wolfhounds are currently preparing a roster and schedule for 2024. Interested players and opponents can visit WolfhoundsBaseball.com for more information.
