2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Recap

The 2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is (almost!) over and we’ve had a lot of fun! Members of the Irish American Baseball Society marched in Baltimore, Boston, San Diego, as well as several parades in New York, including the 263rd New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

This year, we were led by three former major leaguers and Irish Baseball Ambassadors: Steve Garvey, Joe McEwing, and Steve Lyons, as well as former major leaguer and Irish Wolfhounds pitcher, Ryan O’Rourke.

Garvey, McEwing, and Lyons were thrilled by the opportunity to represent their Irish roots:

“Awareness and momentum for Irish Baseball is growing every day. From coast to coast, and throughout the country, baseball fans are joining this movement.” – Steve Garvey

“I’m so grateful for this experience. It was on a totally different level. There was so much passion and love and energy. New York City never disappoints!” – Joe McEwing

“They tell me there were one million people at the parade. The energy from the crowd was electric. It was like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, except I want to do it again next year!” – Steve Lyons

The Irish Star has a full parade recap and here is our recap on Facebook with lots of photos:
