Irish Wolfhounds catcher Joe Cosgrove traveled to Dunedin, FL for Celtic Night with the Dunedin Blue Jays! Along the way, he met with Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame Founder Shaun Clancy and Irish Baseball Podcast host Rick Becker!
Joe, who played collegiately for Rollins College, joined Ireland’s Men’s National Baseball Team in 2018. That year, Ireland went 5-0 and won the European Championships C-Pool Qualifying Tournament. Joe was also a member of Ireland’s National Baseball Team in 2022, when he batted .417 with a 1.012 OPS, leading Ireland in AVG, SLG, OPS, TB, RBI, and Hits!
The Dunedin Blue Jays are the Class A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. The club plays in the Florida State League.
Joe Cosgrove is the latest Irish Wolfhounds player to make an appearance at an Irish Heritage Night celebration. Teammate Ryan O’Rourke threw out the first pitch for the Worcester Red Sox and brothers Colin and Ryan Mackle were the special guests of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws!
