Irish American Baseball Society member John Donohue received a standing ovation at the Bill Buckner Memorial 4th of July Tournament in Yountville, CA!
The crowd was cheering news that John received the first Lefty O’Doul Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame! The announcement was made by fellow IABS member Paul Cunnie.
Coach Donohue coached Lowell High School for 33 years. His lifetime 735 wins ranks #7 in California HS history. Over the course of his storied career, Coach Donohue has won 14 CIF Section Championships and has received numerous awards and honors on a local, regional, and national level. He is a member of the San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame and the California Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
John and Paul are both proud members of the Irish American Baseball Society and Irish Baseball Ambassadors in the Bay Area.
